Prologue

After a year fighting our way through a sea of adoption red tape, we are now one week away from our trip. Our Memorial Day weekend will be spent with last minute shopping and packing. Oh, and we're also emptying half our bedrooms so a massive renovation project can be completed while we're gone (because we didn't have enough stress already). Our desire for a master bath has become an imperative at the prospect of going from one to three children in a few short weeks.

Three weeks in Kazakhstan, and the cost of checked luggage is increasing as we speak. One bag has already maxed out its 40 lb limit with children's toys, and the other is pretty close with customary gifts for our facilitators. Looks like we'll each be wearing 10 sets of clothes on the plane.

Excitement grows, but the closer we get to our departure, the harder we know it will be to leave Asher behind. We'll have to keep up with the blog pictures so Grandma can show him what we're up to.
Comments from friends and family will always be welcome.
